Learn how to make customised Grillz with Maca Bernal. Come spend two half days (total of 8 hrs) in my studio, immersed in a private high-quality learning experience jam-packed with in-depth knowledge about how to manufacture Customised Grillz.
In this ONE ON ONE masterclass, I offer hands-on learning to a keen participant, who also takes home a customised tools & materials pack containing mostly everything necessary to continue making custom grillz on their own.
This is a private Masterclass for ONE person.
Date and time: You choose the dates & times, two 4 hr sessions one week apart, for casting. Once you purchase your Masterclass Maca will begin coms to book you in. Monday-Saturday 9AM-4PM, subject to studio availability.

Price includes 8 hrs tuition, all materials, consumables, tools and the use of specialised jewellery making equipment and facilities.
The costs of castings are separate to that of the masterclass and are the responsibility of the participant. (Metal prices are dictated by the Stockmarket and will depend on the weight of your waxes) How to calculate casting costs is included in the class. Approximate weight of a single tooth fully capped is 2 grams of metal (gold or silver) so check todays prices online.
What can I learn/make?
You will learn the ins and outs of how to make Customised Grillz, from how to correctly take a dental impression, producing a dental plaster negative to model any desired grillz onto them in jewellers wax, preparing these waxes for casting, then learning how to properly clean/finish a metal casting ensuring the correct fit onto real teeth.
This masterclass requires a high level of fine skills, attention to detail and concentration so be prepared to work hard and get good results. Please note this masterclass does not include lost wax casting process, we will be outsourcing all castings to Regal Casting, Mt Eden.
The expected outcome is more than one set of Grillz per participant, in whichever desired designs.
All Materials, consumables, tools and the use of specialised jewellery making equipment are included, the kit you take home contains:
- 200 gr Hygedent Alginate Moulding Material.
- 200 gr of Dental Plaster.
- Set of 6 medical steel, professional grade dental trays.
- Set of wax modelling tools.
- One specialised silicone tip modelling tool.
- 2 Grobet Casting wax- pink sheets, 3" x 6" 18ga
- One scalpel
- Small tub of release agent.
- One specialised mixing bowl with spatula.
- All inside a 30L. container with lid.
Why do we need two sessions?
First session will be all about taking dental impressions and wax works. After this session I will be taking all waxes to get professionally cast locally, by Regal Castings in Mt Eden. The costs of casting are separate to that of the masterclass and are the responsibility of the participant. (Metal prices are dictated by the Stockmarket and will depend on the weight of your waxes). Second session will be all about cleaning, finishing and perfecting the metal castings to ensure fit.
When does this Masterclass take place?
You choose when your sessions will take place, subject to studio availability. Studio is open Monday to Saturday 9 to 4 pm. First in first served, don't delay your bookings to avoid disappointment. Your selected date and time will only be confirmed after payment.
