The Jewellers Cub is an intimate class for like-minded jewellers in formation, with previous jewellery making experience. Whether you have undergone tuition with Maca Bernal before, or any other studio/institution, have basic jewellery manufacturing skills, workshop safety knowledge and can work independently, this is for you.

The Jewellers Cub is ideal for jewellers who are serious about advancing their jewellery practice and wish to train on a weekly basis. Take advantage and amplify your learnings during these cosy sessions where expert tutor Maca Bernal’s instructions and experience will be tripled thanks to the input of other motivated creatives like yourself.
What can I learn/make?
Supercharge your jewellery education by learning to alloy precious metals, perform gemstone setting, experiment with fold forming, take on complex multi-component constructions, advanced soldering, filigree, multi metal fabrication, sand casting in house, modelling in wax for multiples, resins, cold enameling, jewellery repairs, ring resizing and much more. Maca Bernal's promise is NO GATEKEEPING.
Together we can improve your designs, finesse your craftsmanship, put together consistent bodies of work and take your jewellery to the next stage. Perhaps you wish to start a business or are already selling your pieces online, are looking to explore new avenues or simply you feel stuck, let the energy of the group fuel your success.
The Jewellers Club will contain an element of mentoring, where as a group we will discuss business, costs, prices & marketing, approaching shops & galleries, building a portfolio or CV, applications to competitions or grants, participating in markets or perusing job opportunities. All adjusted to the participants interests and diverse skill sets.
Materials (metals or gems) are not included, but can be arranged for extra costs. Maca Bernal recommends that students buy their own materials independently at market prices. A suppliers list will be shared.
The Jewellers Club will run Thursdays 6 to 9 pm, eight sessions per term, for four terms every year.
Cost $672 per term ($28 per hr, total of 24 hrs)

Classes will run every term week without exception, It’s the participants responsibility to attend accordingly. Classes missed will be voided with no chance to reschedule. You may book one term at a time, or several in advance to secure your spot.
